Self-Catering Cottage

With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the Drey is an unusual, detached timber cottage on the outskirts of the village of Laggan, in the Cairngorms National Park.

With its distinctive blue roof, the award winning, custom-built Drey is constructed on stilts to take the best possible advantage of the dramatic views towards Ben Alder and Creag Meagaidh.

Relax on the deck which runs the length of the cottage, absorb the changing light, the Highland air, the vast sky and feel the tension drain away. Your holiday starts from here!

You’ll need to keep your eyes peeled though. The chances are high that you’ll see red squirrels, deer and buzzards, and if you’re lucky you could see herons, woodpeckers, pine marten and stoats.

Newtonmore 8 miles; Fort William 47 miles: Inverness 53 miles: Edinburgh 109 miles.

Located in the Cairngorms National Park in the Central Highlands, the village of Laggan is surrounded by the Monadhliath and Grampian mountain ranges. Featured in TV’s ‘Monarch of the Glen’, the village and its surroundings offer plentiful opportunities for exploring the tranquil countryside and its wide variety of wildlife such as golden eagles, osprey, red squirrels and red, roe and sika deer.

Just 8 miles away is the village of Newtonmore, which overlooks the River Spey and has a Co-op, several coffee and giftshops, a post office, a petrol station and pubs as well as two award-winning museums.
